Basal cell carcinoma

This is a type of malignant tumor that can involve the skin of the ear and ear canal. More commonly these lesions are related to excessive exposure to sunlight. Initial symptoms include pain, itching, and bleeding from a lesion. The pain may radiate to other parts of the face.

Treatment

These lesions are best treated with surgical removal. Reconstruction of the area may require a skin graft or skin flap to close the area.
