Petrous Apex Epidermoid

Petrous apex epidermoid is a condition where skin gets entrapped into the petrous apex of the skull and forms a tumor.

Diagnosis for Petrous Apex Epidermoid

Suspicion of a petrous apex epidermoid is raised by findings on a CT scan of the skull base and MRI scan of the brain.  Diagnosis is made by biopsy and pathologic analysis.
