Audiogram/Tympanogram

The hearing test consists of two parts and will assess the status of your hearing. First, a tympanogram will be performed by placing a soft tip in your ear and presenting a small amount of pressure and a loud noise. The patient is asked to sit quietly and does not have to respond to this test. For the audiogram, headphones will be placed over the patient’s ears, a series of words will be presented, and the patient is asked to repeat the words. Next, a series of beeps will be heard, and the patient is asked to press a button when a sound is heard.
